Chalet track is closed now (end of Dec 2015), after a huge storm took out a couple bridges and some chunks of trail sometime in the last year. We did not see any views from the road in (perhaps the trees have grown in too much?), but the short walk to the signed view from the carpark was not at all crowded and still made a fine view after our fun-but-fruitless scramble over the “track closed” sign and the boulder-strewn streambed.

  2. Danny Says:

Chalet track was still “closed long term due to storm damage” when I was there end of December 2016.

  3. Berney Coleman Says:

    March 2017 it’s still closed
